[The video opens to show Robyn sitting by the window in her room at the Inn. There are some craft supplies on the windowsill behind her, namely some pieces of white cloth and a pair of scissors. Robyn herself is holding a needle and thread, since she's working on making a teru teru bozu.]
Is anybody else makin' these...teru teru things? I don't like sewin' much, but I wanted to make some anyway. We had so much rain in April, it would be nice to have more sun. I hope those storm sprites will like them.
[And also because she wants to see a tiny fairy wedding outside her window. No matter how strange things can get here, she still gets excited about what she's heard in stories, including fairies.]
I can make the bodies just fine, but... [Robyn snips the end off her thread with the scissors and turns the teru teru bozu towards the camera. The face she's tried to sew on it has a rather crooked smile.] I can't get the faces right. Does anyone have any advice?
[Merlyn, Robyn's falcon, is perched on her chair and cheeps something to Robyn that makes her give him an exasperated look.] Oh, as if you know anythin' about sewin', smarty-feathers.

[Markers haven't been invented yet where Robyn is from, but she still looks like she wishes she thought of that beforehand.]
Ugh, that would have been so much easier...

[ Maybe making more will bring better luck. ]

[And so she can see a fairy wedding, of course.]

Try as some of the castle maids might have, I never could pick up on needlework of any sort.
[ And then a brighter chuckle. ]
I suppose, given my proficiency with my lance, I just needed something bigger, eh?

[Robyn huffs a little as she looks out at the rain pouring down.] Not that I can go outside, anyway.

[ Though that wouldn't necessarily improve Robyn's technique... ]

[And if she tried singing those, she'd probably just get distracted from what she was supposed to be doing.]

[He said before showing off his poor attempt to make the doll.]
Or at least, I think it did.

[She probably could have just drawn a face on there first, at least.]

I never liked havin' to sit and sew for so long, but knowin' how to do it can be useful. Like if you have a hole in your clothes and you need to patch it up.

All the more reason to look up how to sew right? Just in case if your mom isn't around to help you anymore.

Hey, Robyn-chan~ I've made quite a few teru teru bozu, if you want, I know a couple o ways you can do it without sewing!
no subject
[She can make the bodies by tightening the threads where the head should be, but anything more complicated than that is frustrating for her.]
TMW you remember that your character is, in fact, pretty darn good at sewing.
Yeah, it's no problem at all! Where do you wanna meet up? I've got a sewing kit we can use and I can grab more art supplies... and I can bake snacks too. Gotta stay fueled, right~? [Wink!]
no subject
Maybe somewhere not too far from the Inn? It's still rainin' pretty hard. [Though Robyn would still welcome a change of scenery.]
I'll bring what I have for sewin', too.
no subject
Sounds good; I'll meet you there!
[A couple hours and a rented horse later, Makoto arrives with the promised sewing kit, a box of freshly baked cookies, and a spare umbrella in case Robyn needs one (all thankfully not soaked with the help of the Dry Spell). And it's not too long before the spots the young blonde.]
Hey, Robyn~

But they're known as bald-headed monks, so you shouldn't try to make them too pretty. It was based on an idiot who told a lord he could control the weather. He could not. So he was beheaded. [Nobunaga, that wasn't necessary.]
no subject
[Though that's not the kind of story she expected behind these cute little dolls. She's from a time period where even stories aimed at children could be gruesome, but still.]
Why do these have such an awful story? But...if I can't make them too pretty, those Storm Sprites might not like them.
no subject
And probably because monks versus lords is a story as old as time.
no subject
[As far as she's concerned, they both just push people of lower classes around. And an overly religious lord is worse than either of them.]
Have you made any of these for the Sprites yet?
